Blues and Roots Festival

Traditionally held over the Easter long weekend, Byron Bay’s Blues and Roots Festival (Bluesfest) will celebrate its’ 23^rdbirthday in 2012.

The five day event is now held at Tyagarah Tee Tree farm, situated just north of Byron’s town centre. The artists performing range from traditional Mississippi Blues and African Roots, through to mainstream pop and rock n’ roll classics. Aside from the music there are street theatre performers, rides, craft stalls, bars and global cuisine. The Bluesfest deservingly boosts at being an ageless and family friendly event.

17,500 guests attend each day, but only one third camp on-site. The majority of festival goers descend on town in the evenings to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a sit down meal. Most importantly peaceful night’s sleep.

In town; motels, cabins and campsites book up quickly during this peak period, so it is strongly advised to plan ahead by booking your accommodation in Byron Bay. Perhaps even embrace the idea of sleeping under canvas or renting a campervan for the weekend.

Getting from town to the festival couldn’t be easier, with a shuttle bus scheduled every 20mins. This bus will pick you up outside the Tourist Centre (400 yards from Glen Villa Resort) and travel down Ewingsdale Road to stop directly opposite the Byron Bay Tourist Village.
